Community Forestry
Conducting a street tree inventory
Introduction
This
project offers alternative methods to inexpensively build a plan that
will protect and enhance your community tree resources. Depending
on your communities resources and eligibility, there are three different
levels of involvement. The Community Forestry Program Work Team at
Cornell will be available to help based on priority of need and availability
of personnel. Go to "Details" under the category
that best suits your needs. To find out how this method of tree inventory
evolved, go the Street Tree Project History.
The Community Forestry Program Work Team is continuously evaluating and improving this project. We are currently investigating the use of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to improve tree location information. Watch for updates in the near future.
