Eastern Broccoli Project

Monmouth, Maine

Mark Hutton, Extension Specialist and Associate Professor of Vegetable Crops with the University of Maine, directs broccoli trials at the research station in Monmouth. This location is the northernmost one for this project and thus the last to plant in the spring. After an unusually wet spring, the first 2011 trial was transplanted in early June, with evaluation and harvest expected at the end of July. Broccoli transplants for the second trial at this site went into the ground on 18 July.
