Heat causes large and small flower buds to appear, instead ofuniformly arrested buds.
Segregating Population
Some segregants from an F2 population from a cross between a tolerant and a sensitive variety. We are using this population to map heat tolerance QTLs, test hypotheses regarding the involvement of specific genes, and develop molecular markers that can be used in breeding. This figure was part of a poster presented at the International Botanical Congress, August 1999.
