    Leaves:

    • Semi-evergreen (Most winters in the Northeast, most leaves fall off or turn brown and hang on the twigs. Depends on severity of weather and exposure to sun and wind.)
    • Long and narrow
    • 3 to 8 inches long, 1 to 1.5 inches wide
    • Margins (edges) entire (smooth)
    • Not as wrinkled as V. rhytidophyllum
    Flowers:
    • Creamy-white in 3- to 4-inch diameter, flat-topped clusters
    Fruit:
    • Reddish changing to black late August through September

    Similar Species and distinguishing characteristics:

    Viburnum cassinoides
    Leaves 1.5 to 3.5 inches long, .75 to 2.25 inches wide.
    Teeth rounded and widely spaced.
    Viburnum rhytidophyllum
    Leaves 3 to 7 inches long, 1.5 inches wide, more wrinkled appearance, more evergreen.
