Facilitating Sustainable Agriculture Education
Cornell University, July 11-14, 2007

Highlights
Late fee for Walk-Ins the Day of Conference
A late fee of $50 in addition to regular conference costs will be charged to those either completing a new registration, or paying for an incomplete registration, on July 11.
Standard Registration: $325
Standard registration is for all non-student conference participants. It includes full participation in the conference, from July 11 to July 14, and all meals there within. It does not include housing; see Lodging/Travel for more information.
Student Registration: $75
Student registration is for all aspiring, current, and recently graduated (unemployed) undergraduate and graduate student conference participants from post-secondary institutions. Student registration includes full participation in the conference, from July 11 to July 14, and all meals there within. It does not include housing; see Lodging/Travel for more information. Please note: The conference planning steering committee recognizes that students in particular are sometimes unable to leverage the necessary funding to attend such events as this. Therefore in an effort to ensure that students, one of the primary stakeholders in post-secondary sustainable agriculture education, are able to fully participate in this conference, the committee has applied for and been awarded grants by the Toward Sustainability Foundation and The Rodale Institute to significantly lower the student registration fee. In return, students are required to provide their advisor's name and contact information on the Personal Profile page of the online registration in order to verify 'student' status. Former advisors, guidance counselors and mentors are considered acceptable 'advisors'. We ask that prospective registrants kindly select their registration category thoughtfully as there is a limit on how many student registrations we are able to provide.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
No refunds will be issued after registering. If you can no longer attend after registering, please consider sending a colleague to represent you
When you take our teaching and learning registration survey, please be aware that your entry will be published for use throughout the conference, please share your information thoughtfully. If you cannot finish the survey while registering, please return to the registration window, complete your registration, then return to the survey later when you have collected the information you would like to share. You cannot edit your survey information once you have submitted the form!

The more information you enter in our survey the richer the conference experience will be, so please be verbose!

Meals are included in all registration fees regardless of registration category. Wherever possible, produce, meats and other ingredients for conference meals and breaks will be sourced from Ithaca's local farms where farming practices are commonly considered "sustainable," if not organic, or from local businesses. Great effort is being made to provide participants with choices to suit dietary preferences and needs. As such, each meal will afford a vegan, vegetarian and meat-based option. Meals will be offered buffet-style in the Alice Cook House Dining area. Registration is mandatory in order to partake in conference meals. Spouses, significant others and/or other guests of registrants who are not themselves participants of the conference are not permitted to partake in meals, unless prior approval by the conference organizer is granted.
Parking and Local Transportation
Parking access is extremely limited on Cornell's West Campus. The majority of parking spaces will be available on North Campus, a brisk 15-20 minute walk or five minute bus ride to/from the Alice Cook House. The cost of parking permits is $6.00 per day. Participants are strongly encouraged to use alternative forms of transportation, including mass transit (TCAT), carpooling, bicycles, and walking, whenever possible.
Participants may wish to purchase a 2- or 5-day unlimited bus pass from TCAT through their online store.
Lost Room Keys and Door Access Cards to the Alice Cook House
One room key and one door access card will be provided to each person residing in the Alice Cook House (or adjacent Carl Becker House). Keys and cards will be issued upon arrival and must be returned before leaving the University. If keys or cards are lost or not returned, guests will be charged $50 for the lock cylinder change and replacement of lost room keys, and $15 for the replacement of lost door access cards.
Optional Carbon Offset Program
The increased levels of carbon dioxide emissions caused by, among other things, personal travel is causing the Earth's climate to warm. To help solve the problem of climate change, we can take account of our personal carbon emissions and make continued efforts to reduce them wherever possible. One such way is by purchasing carbon offsets to mitigate the emissions from your air travel or automobile use. Based on the approximate amount of carbon dioxide emissions, you can purchase a set amount of carbon offsets that invest in programs to reduce emissions, such as tree planting and investments in alternative energy sources as well as various educational and outreach campaigns.
Cornell University is working with CarbonFund.org to help individuals traveling to campus to offset their travel emissions. If you are flying 6,000 miles roundtrip - the amount of carbon dioxide emissions total approximately over 1 ton (2,500 lbs.) compared with the average car that emits approximately 2 tons of carbon dioxide per year.
Whether you are flying, driving, walking or biking we'd like to offer you the opportunity to offset a portion of your travel. We are providing an option of offsetting a set amount of 1 metric ton of carbon for a $5.50 donation. Your donation will be made to CarbonFund.org directly upon commencement of the conference.
