Highlights
Late fee for Walk-Ins the Day of Conference
A late fee of $50 in addition to regular conference costs will be charged to those either completing a new registration, or paying for an incomplete registration, on July 11.
Two optional, half-day field trips will be integrated into the conference program.
Trip #1: Student farms as teaching tools
Where: Dilmun Hill Student Farm, Cornell University
What: Using an example of an inquiry-based teaching approach, participants will work in groups to conduct a multi-layered assessment of the potential educational resources of this student farm. Student managers and conference participants will share results and discuss how student farms can be used as tools for sustainable agriculture teaching and learning.
Trip #2: On-farm education
Where: Community Supported Agriculture vegetable farm in the Ithaca area
What: Local and regional farmers will lead a discussion on their thoughts and experiences of integrating working farms into sustainable agriculture curriculum.
