Cornell Commercial Vegetable Production |
NEW YORK STATE This Association was founded in 1911 by a group of market gardeners and Professor Paul A. Work of the newly formed Department of Vegetable Gardening at Cornell University, Ithaca, New York. Through the years, we have seen the fresh market and processing industries undergo a great many changes in New York State, as well as nationally and internationally. Today, the New York State Vegetable Growers Association continues to be a strong, active organization, involved in many projects, and with a still expanding membership of over 500. We publish an informative quarterly News and monthly bulletin for our members. The Association represents growers in various state, regional and national levels. We also have a new third party label registration program that holds promise for New York growers. Additionally, we cosponsor, with Cornell Cooperative Extension, the Empire
State Potato Club and Associated New York
State Food Processors, the annual New York State Vegetable Conference,
combining the fresh market, storage, and processing statewide vegetable
meetings for growers. It is typically held in early February and is
considered one the best vegetable conferences held in the Northeast. Board of Directors
