Evaluation

Perhaps one of the most important steps in running your CGC program is evaluation.

Provide an opportunity for student participants, adult attendees, and adult assistants to provide feedback about their CGC experience. Gather as much information as possible while every one is still assembled. Did it turn out how they expected? What did they learn? What went well? What could have been better? What was missing? Listen to what participants are saying and provide quality opportunities for feedback. Offer more than one method for gathering feedback (i.e. a forum for dialogue and/or group discussion as well as anonymous written responses to survey questions).

Additionally, consider holding a follow up focus group one week after the program concludes. Get the answers you need to gauge the effectiveness of your CGC program, and how it can be improved next time.
