Mission

  • The Mission of the Cornell University vegetable production research and extension program is to provide agriculture producers, policy makers and the general public with current, science-based information on production practices which promote the viability and economic sustainability of our vegetable industry, while minimizing negative impacts on the natural resources of New York State.

Program Goals

  • Maintain and provide current information on recommended varieties of vegetable crops for NYS climates and markets.
  • Develop production recommendations for alternative crops which show promise to increase diversity of crops and markets.
  • Provide information based upon new research in the area of integrated crop production aimed at reducing reliance on commercial fertilizers and pesticides
