Teacher's Materials for Coming Up on the Season: Migrant Farmworkers in the Northeast - Labor is a huge part of our food system, and more and more of it is performed by migrant farmworkers. Many of us are surprised to find out that the Northeast still grows much of the nation's food, and in no other region do migrants make up such a large part of the work force that produces it. These background materials and lesson plans produced by the Cornell Migrant Program are designed to prepare classes (from grades 2 through 12) to visit a touring museum exhibit, but they stand well on their own. Highly recommended.
