    Using Municipal Staff

    • Time frame - Plan on one day training/study to learn procedures, and 2-5 minutes per tree to do the inventory
    • Costs - staff wages, PDA (under $200 - Palm Pilot, Sony Clie'), Software (Pendragon Forms - about $250)
    • Benefits - Work on your own time frame, may be easier to locate trees from database in the future if end user is entering location data.

    What we are offering

    • To work with your staff to set up the management planning and inventory process.
    • To provide you with a list of appropriate species for new planting.
    • We can provide you with the handheld computer template and training presentation.

What you will need to provide

    • Someone will need to be designated as our contact person during this process.
    • There needs to be a staff person assigned to keep and update the electronic database that will be provided.
    • The computer software necessary would be Access or Excel.
    • After the data is collected and summarized, attend a one-day workshop to walk through the process of creating a planning document.
